Use Claude to Talk to Your Google Ads Data via CData Connect Cloud

Leverage CData Connect Cloud Remote MCP to enable Claude to securely answer questions and take actions on your Google Ads data for you.

Claude is a family of advanced large language models (LLMs) built by Anthropic, an AI research company founded in 2021. These models power the Claude conversational assistant and developer tools.

CData Connect Cloud offers a dedicated cloud-to-cloud interface for connecting to Google Ads data. The CData Connect Cloud Remote MCP Server enables secure communication between Claude and Google Ads. This allows you to ask questions and take actions on your Google Ads data using Claude, all without the need for data replication to a natively supported database. With its inherent optimized data processing capabilities, CData Connect Cloud efficiently channels all supported SQL operations, including filters and JOINs, directly to Google Ads. This leverages server-side processing to swiftly deliver the requested Google Ads data.

Step 1: Configure Google Ads Connectivity for Claude

Connectivity to Google Ads from Claude is made possible through CData Connect Cloud Remote MCP. To interact with Google Ads data from Claude, we start by creating and configuring a Google Ads connection in CData Connect Cloud.

  1. Log into Connect Cloud, click Sources, and then click Add Connection
  2. Select "Google Ads" from the Add Connection panel
  3. Enter the necessary authentication properties to connect to Google Ads.

Google uses the OAuth authentication standard. To access Google APIs on behalf on individual users, you can use the embedded credentials or you can register your own OAuth app.

OAuth also enables you to use a service account to connect on behalf of users in a Google Apps domain. To authenticate with a service account, register an application to obtain the OAuth JWT values.

In addition to the OAuth values, specify the DeveloperToken and ClientCustomerId.

See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for a guide to using OAuth.

  4. Click Save & Test
